The low horizontal plate was designed as an alternative to the rosette, to provide an aesthetic look and feel different to the norm.
With a projection of only 5mm off the face of the door, these new horizontal plates are slick and stylish. Normal plates can project upto 20mm off the face of the the door, so a 5mm projection is a welcome change in design options. Both the internal and external plates have fully concealed fixings and are equipped fully concealed spring and a horizontal stopper, as a result, the lever handle will always bounce back to its correct position after use.
Tested according to European standard “DIN EN 1906”, the springs have successfully exceeded 200,000 working cycles, resulting in the 4th grade of classification, namely suitable for heavy use. In fact, the springs were successfully tested to in excess of 1,000,000 cycles.
Olivari’s new horizontal back plate: creating a visual difference by taking design in the hand.
There are many reasons to choose a backplate over a round or square rose. One of which is the aesthetic appeal of the design. A backplate can function as a backdrop, an extension of the door handle, it can create an effect of one whole integrated piece with strong expression and substance.
Other reasons may include design and practicality. Whatever the motivation, Olivari’s new horizontal back plate are a picture of design elegance and simplistic beauty.
There are two design options available to complement Olivari’s extensive range of lever handles. These include a rectangular design, one with squared off edges and an oval design. Both versions are available in a wide range finishes, including Olivari’s SuperInox finishes that are guaranteed not pit, rub, fade or tarnish in high traffic environments as well as sea and costal environments for 10-30 years.
